Manifold absolute sensor pressure error 33

Recommended Posts

I have two batteries run through a switch, but found out the positive terminal was loose. While trying to start my boat, the whole electrical panel would suddenly go off. I tightened the positive.  Charge both batteries, which seemed to be fine. But now my computer has a manifold absolute pressure sensor 33 air they won’t clear and I am wary of going back into the water... until I figure it out.   A mechanic told me MAP SENSORS rarely go out and he thinks it’s a false positive.  But unhooking the batteries didn’t clear it.  Thoug it started fine.  I have a 1995 MALIBU inboard mercruiser.

If the engine runs OK under load, the MAP sensor values are getting to the ECM OK.  If the engine doesn't run OK under load, the ECM can't calculate engine load (and therefore the amount of fuel to apply).
