Depth gauge always shows 4.0

Recommended Posts

I have a 2012 Malibu Vride with the Malibu Depth gauge Part # IDT-N2000 and as the screen shows the water and air temp the depth always shows 4.0 and since it is in the left gauge I am not seeing how to adjust or what the issue is.  I know when the transducer goes bad it should tell you it is bad.  Anyone have any experience with this and can help me figure out how to get it working properly.

If your transducer has the same connector at the end of the cable then I would definitely trace the cable from the transducer to the connector, then disconnect and thoroughly clean the contacts.  If it's down in the bilge and been subjected to bilge water I'd think it would need it anyway.

I was able to check the plug and all looks good. I guess I should clarify in case I was expecting more. Does the gauge just show water temp, air temp and Depth alarm or show it show the actual depth? I just know it is showing the 4' which is the same depth that the alarm is set at and if I change the depth on the alarm it stays at 4 on the gauge. From everything I have read it should give me an error is the transducer is bad.
