'98 Sportster Broken Throttle

Good Morning - we were out for our Wed night ski; 1st skier in the water, "hit it", boat goes in to gear but stays at idle.  just wanted to post this so others were aware of the failure point. I believe this is a Morse throttle. There's a brass piece threaded on to the throttle cable that hooks to the throttle handle with a cotter pin. The piece sheared off. It's a 5 minute fix if you carried a spare. Might be worth taking a peek at yours and maybe hitting it with grease yearly. Glad we were not starting our vacation next week when this busted!

Idle skiing just isn't as fun....

You should have one on the shift cable as well, and maybe both ends.
