2005 Malibu V Ride Tachometer issue

Hey everyone,

Took the boat out yesterday and noticed that my tachometer is intermittently not working at any engine speed.  Occasionally it would start to work fine and then all the sudden it would drop to 0rpms without any change to throttle position.

 

I haven’t checked for loose wires yet but that’s on this weekend’s to-do list.  Is there anything else I should check and is this a known issue?

Definitely start with the wire connections making sure they are snug and clean. If that doesn’t work I bet one of these guys can help: @justgary @formulaben @UWSkier

Turns out one of my batteries was dead and the cable that connects the two batteries wasn’t hooked up.  Charged the dead battery and took out last weekend with no issues.  Thank you for the help!
