Wedge actuator broken pivot repair

Recommended Posts

Last year we hit a stump and it ripped the wedge actuator pins off the actuator.

I tried using some JV weld on them and it only held for a few outings. Now the fault wasn’t the jb weld but my application of it. However this time I tried using Gorilla two part epoxy.

I made a form using masking tape and poured in the epoxy resin.

after it hardened I removed the tape and sanded some and then drilled a new hole. This looks 100x stronger than my first fix.

I hooked it up to the boat and they are working perfectly. Time will tell how strong it is but at this point no need to spend 400$ plus to replace the actuators because if a broke piece of plastic.
