Which Axis hull is closest to 2016 Malibu 23LSV

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know which Axis hull and year ranges are the same as the 2016 Malibu 23 LSV?

The 23 LSV had an amazing surf wave, but would like to replicate that in an Axis.

Any help is much appreciated!

The T23 is 23.5 feet and the 23 LSV is 23 feet, so none will be as close as you think. 23 LSV also has the option of either a wake plus and diamond hull, so that’s another thing to consider. The T23 will be more of the wakeplus model which is what you are after.

Also the weight of the T23 is 4,200 and the 23 LSV is 5,000. Plan on adding “lead” bags to the T23 to make it better. Also may want a floor sac or bow triangle. Adding weight will make the wave better regardless. You will need to tinker with placement to dial it in for you. That and the number of people you bring.

I’d concur about the my 14-18 BUT you likely will want power wedge to make a similar wave you found. Power wedge only became an option for Axis in 2018. Make sure your boat has one if you seek the ideal wave.

You are now forced with 2018 or newer, well optioned T23 to get the similar wave you seek as the 2016 23 LSV!

I bought my 17 T23 after riding behind my buddies 2016 LSV.  The boarding and surf wakes on both boats are bananas.  I added 400lbs lead up front.  I never really run full weight unless i am pulling someone who wants it. just half in back is good enough for us.

I have a '19 T23 with power wedge 3 but have never tried filling things half. I have 400# lead as well, in the observer's compartment. Any pics of your wave and your size? I am 6'1"/195 and have only surfed for a couple years now, but still feel I need the push that comes from more weight but I am all ears to see a wave that would convince me to drop some ballast.
