Mooring boat during rainy weather

Recommended Posts

Hey gents quick question on mooring during rainy weather. Having the cover on with Bimini should be fine during rainy days?

Yup. Been mooring ours all summer for many years. Just need to make sure it isn't going to pool so badly the cover caves in under very heavy rain.

My experience has been that the wave action on our moorings drains the small puddles at the back before they become a real issue.

Thanks for advice.

so you leave your boat in for entire several months of summer?

@2020LSV23 Yes, even though we now have a boat lift, that only takes care of 1 boat. We have the 2 malibu's and a fishing boat. All stay in the water except for service or cleaning in the summer.

Our summers feel too short to be messing with trailering in and out, plus we basically live at the lake house all summer. View from the deck before heading home to cut the grass.

Response at the dock, vtx and fishing boat on moorings, neighbors boat on our 3d mooring, because his was being replaced

And the boat lift still on the lawn......

We leave our bimini out year round u less traveling. There is one tiny spot that will pool water on the back corners but not nearly enough to even come close to sagging. The biminis are so tight the water just runs right off of them. You should have zero issues.

Been moioring for years with no issues with the bimini up.  BUT, if there is a massive storm on the way (we get the odd one with 80-100 kphh winds), everyone takes the bimini off.
