Need some surf board help

Ok so I did this thing where I traded in my 2010 A22 on a 23 MXZ that I will pick up in a week or so.  I have spent years wakeboarding, skiing, slaloming, and pulling kids on tubes.  As you can see there is no surfing in that list.  So I need help on what a good board would be to learn on for myself a 5'9" 195# male and my daughters 5'4" 105#s.

Any help is great appreciated:

A lot of people like the hyperlite broadcast, however, it doesn’t last people long as they progress. We have an inland surfer tako and while it’s just ok I felt stepping up to a higher performance board made it easier to learn and progress. We use a phase 5 Daniello diamond 54” for both my wife and myself to share.  She only wakeboarded prior to surfing and highly preferred the diamond to anything else she has ridden or tried.  It is not as durable as many other boards but by far has allowed us to get better. You can always put a larger fin on it while starting out and then use the smaller one that it comes with when you’re ready for a looser feel. Since you all wakeboard and ski including slalom you may be water talent inclined and may appreciate starting out a little more aggressive. Others may disagree.

The diamond is a skim board and I use a Doomswell Nubstep for my surf style. I gotta say I personally feel skim is easier to learn and ride than surf when getting started. Again, YMMV.

I appreciate the input.  I ended up getting a Ronix Conductor for myself and phase 5 fish skim for my girls.  Now just need next Friday to get here to pick up the new boat.
