I'm wondering if anybody can recommend a seat repair product?  I'm not interested in using the repair patches, just some sort of clear flexible adhesive that will prevent a rip from getting worse.  Thanks in advance!

They are all pretty useless.  BTDT.  I tried VIP (Vinyl Instant Patch?) and Shoo-goo.  The latter was a bit better, but this is a very, very temporary fix that may or may not work depending on the nature and location of the tear.

Check for mobile vinyl repair in your area. I have used them several times. Some better than others. All are better than tear left to get worse over time. I have also super glued, but that makes a professional repair harder later if you decide that route.
