Boat Sealant question...

WhiteWaterWeb

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I hope you are well. Question for everyone: has anyone used boat sealants on their Malibu/Axis boats? I am specifically wondering if anyone has used Chemical Guys' 'Marine Boat Polish and Sealant'?

We wax twice a year and the boat is in excellent shape, but are sealants better than wax, or should they be used before wax, etc?

Thanks.

Jody

I used the Jescar Powerlock on mine a couple of times.  I didn't find that it lasted any longer than my normal collinite wax.  However it worked great on a couple of cars I used it on.

Get a spray detailer that includes wax and can be applied to a wet surface.  That's what I use to wipe down my boat and it's always shiny that way.

I did apply a coat of Chemical Guys Hydroslick a couple months ago but with the lakes all closed here, I haven't been able to get the boat wet to test it out yet.
