Fuel pump problems

Recommended Posts

I would like to know why electric fuel pump on my 2001 Response is not getting electricity. I found a bad lanyard switch then jumpered it to test. Everything lights up but no juice to the pump. Pump is good. I bench checked it. Can I wire a direct line from the ignition to the pump? Does anyone know if the pump runs continuosly or has something to regulate pressure and turning it off and on.

When you say you jumpered, do you mean you bypassed the lanyard?  If you bypassed the lanyard and you're getting dash gauges but no fuel pump at key up, then take a look at your fuel pump relay.
