Any 03-06 owners: quick favor? Alternator help

Recommended Posts

Anyone with a boat of that vintage happen to have a photo of your alternator wiring? Bought an alternator for those years to install in my 01 and trying to figure out if I need the pigtail or not. It's a Delco 7si equivalent. Reading conflicting things about whether I still need my purple wire.

Red and Purple together in connector. Any help to you?

Yep!  Lets me know I need the pigtail I'm waiting on before I can do my alternator conversion project.  Appreciate it!

No problem

No ground wire? Must ground to engine via bracket. I attached my ground anyways. Ran beefy charge and ground wires to starter and ground post respectively.

Ground is there. I didn't get it into the last pic. All 3 wires in the loom back to the area of the cannon plug. Lost them under a cover.

Sounds like you've got it

Much obliged! My standard wiring was maybe OK but I figured better safe than sorry.
