Reluctor Ring? Install Question

Anybody ever install a relucutor ring in a Vortec 5.7? It goes on the crank in front of the crank timing chain gear. 

Here is a picture of one, I cant find any pictures of one installed in the correct orientation.

Same as this?  He calls it an "oil slinger" but someone in the comments corrects it.

I'm surprised you could put one on backwards.  With the dish in it, the sensor would certainly miss the pickup tabs on it if you did.
