Making brass and AL wedge shiny again

I am pretty sure my 99 Wedge is anodized aluminum.  The arms are brass/Nibral and the brack is alu as well AFIK

Good point. The wedge does look brighter than the arms that hold it. Probably AL as well.

I wire wheeled mine once and it was shiny again, but that's mostly because I already had it off doing some exhaust work.  I wouldn't do it again because it dulls up pretty quickly.  There was a guy that took his to a shop and had it polished, it looked really good.

When I worked in a Machine shop 44 years ago, we used to clean non ferrous metals with lye.

If you want your polish job to last, get it looking how you want it and then have it hard anodized.  Rather than polish it, I'd probably bead blast it for a satin finish.  Much less work.
