Audio wiring diagram 2016 wakesetter 22 vlx

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the audio of a malibu wakesetter vlx 2016? I bought 2 pairs of tower speakers incl the wetsound dsp amp and I want to upgrade my tower with that. Do I need adapters for the wetsound dsp amp? I couldn’t find the special plug for the amp in my boat´s harness.

thanx in advance

Stef

The 2016 factory offerings were not using DSP amps then.  They were traditional Rockford amps with RCA style connections.   2017 was the start of Wetsounds DSP from the factory.

An actual wiring diagram may be tough to find but lots of folks here can help.   I am unsure how to integrate those DSP amps into the 2017 system, but in general your amps will connect to the black box in the passenger compartment.  It will be a rats nest behind the amp board from the factory once you get back there.

I wouldn't install a DSP amp in the older system myself.

Why not? I have the dsp amp already. I think the dsp is configured to the speakers.

The DSP is configured to the speakers for the newer model boat that it was programmed for, etc.

Having to go through all of the adapters, etc adds to the PITA factor. A regular amp would be a LOT easier IMO.

Does the 2016 Rockford system run the speaker wires through the black box and then to the speakers? I’m replacing my cabin speakers and adding an amp to run the 400x4 for the 6.5” set in the bow and walk through and a new 600x4 for the 8” speakers in the main seating area.

I thought this would be a simple addition but it does seem like the speakers run through the black box after the amp and before they run to the speaker itself. I don’t have the boat to verify, can anyone help with this? I need to make sure I have all the wires and connectors I need for install this weekend.

Thanks!

Im pretty sure the OEM 8-speaker cabin system would have had a 4 chnl amp for the 8 speakers and a 2 chnl bridged to the woofer. So in this scenario, the speaker wires are wired directly to the amp.

FYI, the aft left and right pair are in parallel and the bow/walkway pairs are in parallel. So to run 8 speakers on 8 independent amps chnls, you will need to do quite a bit of rewiring. This would give you ability to have 4 cabin volume zones? Do you need this? If not, to simplify the setup, consider a single 4 chnl that would deliver the desired wattage for the larger speaker. That "600" watt amp is likely only 75W x 4. Thats light for even the 6.5".
