sort of a loaded question really, have you tried searching this thread for GatorStep or SeaDek.  Sooo much literature that you will benefit over what replies you get here.  there are threads on DIY removal of carpeting, scraping floor, and jumping into the EVA foam (gator/seadeck,etc..). Also Malibu/Axis Owner FB page has a decent amount of post to research on.

To move away from carpet it's recommended that you finish the unfinished floors. For the best finish you also remove all of the bench seating and bow seat frames.

It seems like a daunting task to me.

I considered several options and ended up going with woven vinyl flooring. Much nicer than carpet and none of the work of finishing the floor for EVA foam. The carpet seemed like it would stay wet for days after a day on the lake so glad that is gone.

Do you have any pictures?

Wow that looks great.  Did you have everything done all at one?  Floor and vinyl?

Yes, we had all new vinyl and flooring installed. The dash area was tan with the original vinyl so they had to paint/dye that black.

Viper Customs did all the work here is a video montage they posted to facebook
