I’ve been home a Month and the weather has been absolutely crap. Cold, wind...it feels like March. I’ve only skied once 😢

That's one more time than me!

Same.. well minus the ski. The weather being crap is the only thing not causing me to completely flip out over out states order restricting boats with motors.

That is just beautiful. My first vehicle ever was an ‘87 K5 lifted 3”. Had so many great times in it until I put it on it’s lid swerving to miss a whitetail. Note to 16 year old me....lifted vehicles don’t swerve!!!

Hopefully that changes today in our Governor's press conference about extending the stay at home order.  Looks like we have a stay at home until May 15, but some restrictions will be loosened.

I have not a clue what that means.

That’s is what I’m hoping too. I heard landscaping companies will be allowed to work. If she’s so concerned about boat fuel usage, she should take a look at that. Or just make the logical decision and allow both...

The boat fuel usage is a total load of crap.  It's no different than anyone fueling their cars, trucks, motorcycles, lawn mowers, etc.  It's a power grab, stripping of one's rights more than anything.  If you're in a canoe with 3 people, why can't you be in a 20'+ boat with a motor on it and 3 people?  There's simply no sense in it.

Trust me, I 100% agree. I was just making a backhanded joke or whatever.

No word yet here in AZ on the USFS reopening the launches at the closest lakes, however, not all hope is lost.  My buddy just inked a lease at a private ski lake outside of town and I'll be skiing out there starting next month with any luck.  Bummer will be I can't ski behind my Malibu there, but I'll take it if it means chasing buoys with no surf boats to bother me.  :)

My season may finally get a chance to start!!!!

Folsom Lake is scheduled to open today (5/15/20).  Lake has been closed most of the year due to Covid-19.

Finally, I can practice social distancing and shred a few waves at the same time.

So far, even with the the shutdown of the state parks in NC we have had a great year. We have a new boat, and have gotten alot of riding in during the spring. Now, on the stories of dumb stuff we have done already this year:

1) Wife hooks up the boat, drives to ramp. Gets there and notices that the never dropped the trailer onto the ball. Just the first 1/4 inch kept it on.

2) We pulled the boat our yesterday, I forgot to turn off the engine. We are cleaning up at the tie down, and I say "what idiot left his engine on". Me, I as the idiot.

So, anyone want to go boating with us :)

I’ve owned boats for many years. I’ve got tons of these stories. Just take your time and it’ll become less frequent.

Dexter reservoir and Triangle Lake are both open an have been very quiet for the last month. We drove up to Fall Creek a couple of days ago, it's still crazy low and Winberry remains closed.

Weather finally cooperated for us the first part of the month, so we took advantage of it and got on the water for a few hours. Buddy and son braved the 52 degree water and looked like neither lost a step. I didn’t dare get in with the healing of the fractured ankle still progressing and don’t want to set myself back any, plus it looked cold. Pic just to show the old girl can still throw a wave, plus we like pics

Got 10 hours on the “new” bu this year so far! Only 2 out of 8 ramps are open on our home lake so wait times can be over an hour. We’re waiting in NC for the other ramps to open.

I hope phase 2 makes it easier. 2 hours to put in at bartons creek is not fun.
