Fake-a-Lake flow?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how many gallons per minute you want going through the fake-a-lake?  I don't have much pressure coming out of my well (and don't want to drain it if possible).  Planning on dropping a pump in the pool and sucking some water from there to run the boat.

Monsoon 335 if it matters.

Thanks!

Here is a good visualization.   Assuming that is a 5 gallon container, it goes from 3/4 full to 1/4 full in 20 seconds so roughly 7-8 gallons minute.

I use a home made fake a lake, and if I don't turn my garden hose up quite a bit, it will collapse the fake a lake.  I easily agree with Ben.  Not sure if starving the pump with lower flow would hurt it. Just monitor manifold temperature, because that is where most of the water is going once block fills up.
