As someone who knows nothing about audio, does shape not matter as long as the volume of the box matches the sub?

Simple answer, no. Not for a sealed box. But if shapes get really odd they may have an effect on a ported box.

dayum, that is some nice work!  I've built a lot of custom boxes in my day but nothing like that.  How long did that take you to figure out the exact internal volume hahahaa.  It's easy when it's cubic shaped (leng X width X height then divide by 1728), but that one looks more sophisticated to find internal volume.

We resin coated it inside and out, and are using the factory front plate as the trim.

sort of what I did, except my 08 didn't have a factory plate so I made one, resin/carpet, added my heater ports.

@COOP what’s the internal volume of that enclosure? Looks big for a sealed box. 

What sub are you putting in it?
