Mdc and mdec - 1600 / medallion mdc

Recommended Posts

If your medallion mdc mdc - 1600 goes out you can do away with it with a conversion kit.  I just did the job with my wife in 40 minutes.  She read the directions while I did the work.  It's basically plug and play work.  When I fired my boat up none of the guages worked and after running a test I discovered it was my mdc.  Skiboatpartsonline.com sent me what I needed and wanted.  A new cluster Guage and tach plus the conversion kit.  Just call once you have hull Id and they will tell you what you need.  I have a Tige full of computers. My 2000 Malibu has zero computers other than my speed control.  I love the simplicity of my Malibu vs the Tige.  I can do most of the work on my Malibu.  Tige is scary with useless technology and the v drive is a B to get to.

Ron at Skiboatpartsonline.com is a great guy and resource.  I did my medallion conversation last fall.  Make sure you register your gauges so you get the warranty.  Check out his YouTube channel for a bunch of great DIY videos.

Do you have a picture of the new upgraded gauge cluster? My MDC-1600 has gone out twice in the past few years, but I got a replacement from Bakes Marine. Would be nice to get a new gauge cluster too. I have a 2002 VLX and my gauge cluster doesn't show me engine hours. I have to have my mechanic tell me how many hours I have on it every year when I get it serviced. Thanks in advance.

My perfect pass shows the hours.  My new tach started at 0 the day I installed it.
