Freeboard Illusions

Is it just me or does this 23 LSV freeboard look bigger with triple axle?

Looks unnecessary to me for a relatively light surf boat.

Yes perhaps unnecessary however the question pertained to the illusion aspect. Many G23 boats for example come with double axle trailers and the freeboard looks less than with triple axle. In my opinion there is an illusion aspect to triple axle trailers vs double axle.

The illusion is because it’s riding on 14s, rather than the 18s you’d normally expect to see for a triple. Interesting choices.

Yeah I agree with that. Wheels look small, might be 15”. Not normal to see triple axle non 18”. I believe boatmate doesn’t offer it as turning with larger sidewalls can be sketchy, not sure about Malibu trailers. 
 

I think it depends on the boat. Stick a tandem under a larger boat and it makes the boat look huge.
