Icon 8 Mount screw hole - not sealed

TexasBu

Recommended Posts

So when i turn up the tower speakers there is distortion coming from the two top speakers. Ive noticed there is a screw hole at the bottom of the mount that is open to the sealed can. When i plug this hole with my finger the distortion goes away. I see that the bottom two have a plastic type plug for their screw hole that is located on the top of the mount. Where can i find a replacement plug for these screw holes to seal them up? is there a specific part or what are the thread sizes i can put any screw in it?

Thanks

Are these the Malibu OEM pods or the retail consumer pods? Can you post a pic of the suspect hole and one with the plug in it? I would expect a threaded hole on the shelf to have a bolt threaded into it. Once the pod is mounted, there should be no exposed holes.

I had this same issue on one of my speakers a few years ago.  I noticed on the maiden voyage.  The port side mount had a plastic/rubber plug in the hole, but the starboard side had nothing.  I told the dealer and they put it in on the missing one....problem solved.  I had a picture, but have since deleted it.  Hope this helps.
