Switch - Unknown??

Can anyone shed any light on what this lighted toggle switch could be for?  It's located in the port side cup holder area, is it factory or aftermarket??  The previous owner also has no idea, said they never even noticed it in the 9 years they owned the boat.  I haven't had time to trace wires, and it doesn't seem to change anything obvious.  Idea's??

Does it switch on that cig lighter?

There is a 12v receptacle on both port and starboard side, exact same spot, switch only on port.  That's a thought, I'll get out the air pump tomorrow and test that theory.

Thanks guys for the input, I haven't had a chance to test any of the theories but perhaps today I can get out there.  I wish Malibu had a data base where you could put your hull number in and pull the original build sheet.  The only downside to buying a used boat, trying to figure out it's history.

So you think those switches are factory?  I'd like to think that the factory didn't put those huge clunky looking cig ports in.  I was assuming they were added by a previous owner.

When I reached out to him, he said in all the years he owned the boat he never knew the switch was there?  He had a TON of audio and LED's installed, so I'm thinking that's when the switch and receptacles were added.  I agree, I don't think Malibu would have installed something as cheap as these.

Got these from the factory in my '16. No switch, Just the clunky looking 12v outlet. I think mine was right before the universal switch to just providing a powered USB port, which has now morphed into 143 wireless chargers in a 24-ft boat.

You can contact customer service and they can provide build sheets for many boats. I got a limited build sheet for my '02 and have the super-detailed build sheet for my '15.
