Those don't run close to the waterline though.  At surf speeds, my ghetto downturns are underwater.  They run just above the surface starting around 22 MPH or so as evidenced by the change in sound coming from behind my boat around that speed.  :)

well now you got me wanting to try them out!  ugh... what to do!?

TBH if my Response was as quiet as your VLX, I wouldn't have bothered.  I just thought I'd fart around with them at one point last year based on what some other folks here tried.  My boat doesn't have the benefit of the large expansion chamber right behind the exhaust risers like yours does.  The sound of each bank firing off without something to deaden the pulses a bit creates a pretty aggressive note that carries a long way over quiet water.  This knocks that down a lot.

Finally got a day decent enough to ski. Boat is really quiet on holeshot. I can barely hear it. I wasn’t paying as much attention to the spray, but I was 15off and it wasn’t noticeable. I’ll see when take off more line.

my ski buddy stood in his dock while I holeshot to know what it sounds like to the homes for early am sets. He said it was much quieter.

thanks @UWSkier for a fantastic mod!!
