Mid range RPM screech coming from alternator area-  doesn’t do it at low or higher RPM only when coming up to speed?  Any ideas?

V Belt driven?   Tighten or replace and tighten the belt.  Check the belt alignment also.

I'll add to that.  While you have the belt off, spin the alternator by hand.  It should turn freely.  If it doesn't, you probably have worn bearings and need to do some service on it.  Other than that, do what Boz said.  If you don't know when the belt was last changed, a new one is a good investment to keep you having fun.

In addition to tightening the belt/new belt, I had a Sunsetter about the same year that had the alternator pulley's groove half painted.  Scraped this off and if fixed the same problem.

Speaking of the v-belt assembly. How do you get the impeller belt off? Not sure what pulley to remove to get it out of there as the crank pulley and water pump pulley are so close to one another.

The impeller belt comes off by removing/loosening the impeller bolts, one that slides along the bracket and one that it pivots on.  Then you can take the alternator belt off.  But before that can come off you need to remove the crank pulley (4 bolts on the front of it).

Any issues getting the crank pulley off? I just kept spinning the crank.

It's been a while, I can't remember.  Maybe wedge a piece of wood between the water pump and the pulley?  They are small bolts so it shouldn't take too much torque.
