2019 Axis A22 Wakeboarding Setup

It really depends on your ability. If you are a beginner, you really don't need any ballast or need the PW3 in use.

We have a 2019 A22 and I'd say I'm a declining (age 43) intermediate level wakeboarder. I've landed tantrums and 360s but these days I mostly just jump the wake on both sides and/or do wake to wake 180's. For me, I prefer to fill the hard tanks (rear and center), leave the plug n play bags empty and set the PW3 to '2' once I get up to my preferred speed of 22mph. The wake is PLENTY big and if I want it a bit bigger, I'd probably just set the PW3 to setting '3'.

Beginners can wakeboard with that ballast setup but I'd leave the wedge stowed or go up to the 1st or '1' setting, max.  I would probably slow down a bit with a beginner, going down to 20-21mph, depending on their preference.

Have fun! How are you liking your A22? Ours has been great so far (knock on wood). We've had it since the beginning of July.

for me friends that are pro level - Slammed pnp - wedge on 4 - 9x 50lbs in the nose, 10x 50lbs (5 in each seat coffin area as pushed up the front as possible but even).

New to wakeboarding, what’s the best setup? Speed? Powerwedge III? Ballast?

If you are new to wakeboarding, run the boat empty with no wedge at 19 mph. Once you are gaining confidence and skills, speed up to 21. Then, gradually add ballast, and eventually some wedge if you like the way it shapes the wake.

Whoa. Do you have the 409 with a 2249 prop or a lower pitch prop? How hard is it to plane off, even with Lift Mode? That wake must be gigantic, wow!

Probably running a 15x13 2773 with that setup.

I run mine with full pnp (750s in rear), 300 lead in bow and wedge 4. It's a BOMB wake.
