2015 surfgate fuse location

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

The starboard side surfgate on my 2015 T23 will not retract.  I've read all through forums and troubleshooting and have tried everything with no avail.  Calibrating, turning off the battery, and service mode all have not work.  When in service mode, my port side gate still opens and retracts normally. I've narrowed it down to being a blown fuse or bad actuator (really hoping its a fuse).

I've read on a few forums where the location of the fuse for the surfgate is and I've found all the other wiring and control unit but cannot for the life of my find the fuses!  Can anyone help? I've attached pictures of the areas I've found my wiring for surfgate, pic 1 is wiring under the backseat near the transmission which is where I read there is a fuse, pic 2 is the rear of the engine compartment where the surfgate controller is, also where I've read there is a fuse. Hoping someone can point to it in my pictures or maybe provide me a picture of what I'm supposed to be looking for. Thanks!

There is not a fuse for each actuator. There is a fuse in the surf gate harness on the port side of the engine down by the stringer. More then likely the actuator is junk. The next thing to look for is water in the harness and module. This was vary common for actuators to internally leak and send moisture through the whole system.
