Mil light after heavy stereo use???

Recommended Posts

Last night we went to local night boat party.. We were there for about 9 hours, with the stereo going for the majority of the time.. I started it a few times throughout, but right before we left, with heavy stereo use the amps began to fade out from power loss.. I turned it on really quick and it started but hesitated.. Right after I turned it off the mil light came on, and started to flash battery low, service required.. Volt meter showed about 9.8-10.1...oops..

It charged up back to over 13 but the mil light stayed on and beeps and flashes service required every few minutes now.. I'm assuming it's cause of the power loss, but is there a way to clear this light or check to conoethst is what it was?

Any help would be appreciated the dealer is a good 4 hour drive.. Rather not take in for soemthing stupid, but need to clear the light...

Indmar MIL alarms will clear after three heat cycles if whatever caused the alarm does not re-occur.  That means the engine coolant temp needs to be below about 140 degrees F, then start the engine and let it run until the coolant temp is above 140, then shut off the motor and let the coolant temp go below 140, and do this three times.

Or, you can get a Diacom CAN kit at Rinda.com, a Windows PC laptop, and use those to clear the code.
