Cool Fuel Mod?

$350 to instantly see how much $$ I'm spending on gas.  Hmmm.  I would have to save over 100 gallons to pay for it and saving gallons would require behavior change.  Probably would not change my driving much, if at all, but it would be nice, in a way, I think, to see how much gas these things really suck down.  Then again, maybe I don't want to know.

I can see the value in a big cruising boat where you would travel at a constant speed for a long distance.

You'd only know how much gas you had left if you kept perfect records, or filled it up completely every time.  For me, I put in 15 to 20 gallons every outing - depending on how long I plan on being on the lake.  I only fill the boat up once per season, and that is for my vacation.

Would be valuable for a club boat or a group of riders that split fuel costs meticulously, know exactly how much you owe

The app has an "Add Fuel" button to allow you to track less than full fill.  I might spring for this since we slalom and try to keep the tank under 1/4 to optimize the wake.  That's resulted in some white knuckle drives to the marina for refuelling and a couple of "tows of shame".  :)

That's a good feature and would make it much more useful.  I didn't look at the app features.  Trust me, I know about keeping the boat low on gas for slalom, my slalom tug never had more than about 1/3 tank of gas in it.

it does look kinda cool, after going over the features.  What happens if you dont have your phone connected on a trip?  Does the device store info for the next time it's connected?
