2015 T23 service required but no error codes

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone,

Just purchased my first wakesurf boat, a used 2015 Axis T23 with about 300 hours on it.  Had the engine checked and compression check done before purchase and everything came out great.  First time I went out surfing I got a service required message on my dash.  Did some research and learned how to check the codes so the next time I was out I checked the error codes, but none registered.  After I turn the battery off and back on the problem goes away and it will work again for 1-5 passes it seems like, so it's very inconsistent.  Only comes on while surfing.  No issues when idling or even driving around at 25 mph.  Engine temp has held steady around 168 every time, no audio or visual distress on the engine.  Trying to avoid pulling it out of the slip if I don't need to, anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks.

I have a 2016 T20 which has done this same thing since I bought it new in 2016.  No codes show.  Had it back to the dealer in Middleton MA 2x with no improvement.  I then took it to another dealer in Lake George, same thing.  No improvement.  WTF.  Can anyone help?  It appears to me that a sensor (Temp, pressure... ) is intermittent shutting down the power.  Oil pressure and engine temperature do not change when this happens.  It only happens during surf sessions but always happens during each session at some point.

Low system voltage or loose and corroded electrical connections are the most common reason for an alarm to occur with no fault code, if that what is happening.  Check your batteries condition and connections, charging system, battery distribution post in the engine compartment, engine grounds, dash grounds and connections, etc...
