Livorsi throttle swap failure?

Hey all,

2011 Malibu 23LSV w/ 409

It is pretty common that the original throttle made by ZF fails.  Symptoms are:  Lack of throttle response, severe hesitation, engine runs rough, won't hold speed, engine stalls, wont go into gear, and of course codes.

I replaced the throttle last season with a Livorsi.  Obviously a much better made part from a mechanical standpoint.  Less then a year later, the Livorsi is failing.

Has anyone else had a Livorsi throttle fail?  This would the the full electronic throttle, no cables of course.

There are a bunch of threads about the early livorsi throttles failing.  If you look about 1/2 way down the page after this thread there is one from a week or so ago.

Great thanks Old Jeep.  I wonder if anyone has had any luck getting one warrantied?

From what info I have now Livorsi says, no problem at all just go through the dealer where you purchased the part.  The dealer says, there is no warranty for the part.

You should contact Mike Livorsi directly.  Ask him (he's pres.) to stand behind  his products.  I HATE when companies play fast and loose with warranties.  (And out of curiosity, is there really no way to replace with another throttle?)

The reason you can't just drop any throttle in there is that the programing for the throttle is specific for the ECU and engine configuration.

What I am getting from Livorsi is that they will fix my 1 year old throttle for free OR I can warranty it through Malibu.  The dealer said it isn't warrantable through Malibu?  But then the representative from Livorsi argued that fact.

That is where I am at on this at the moment.  The quickest way to a repair for me is to send it to Livorsi so that is what I will do.
