2005 LSV 383 hammerhead, runs rough at startup

The motor has 800 hrs and it seems to foul the cap / rotor. The motor runs rough (misfire?) for a few minutes after it sits for a week and then it clears up. It has new distributor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Fuel pressure is good. The electronic ignition module in the distributor likes to kill itself every 2 yrs. I am curious if anyone else has been chasing this issue? Does anyone know where the main motor ground is located? Has anyone upgraded to an MSD ignition box?
