paddle wheel interference?

I am looking to put a 1" thru hull fitting in for a third reversible pump.  I want to put it near the V drive with the rest of the thru hulls but wonder if my location is too close to the paddle wheel.  It would be approximately 4" fore of the center of paddle wheel and  2 1/2" to the port side of center.  I believe the flange of the paddle wheel and flange of the thru hull would just touch on a fore/aft line if that makes sense.  The wheel it self is quite a ways in from the  edge of its flange.  Is there any chance this thru hull will interfere with the speed reading.  I would hate to mess up the cruise control or power wedge.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

Thanks, I thought I had read that as well.  I was wondering if being 2 1/2" off to the port would be enough.
