Water from rain in bimini with boot

Hi all

When the boot is on the bimini I would this this keeps water out.

I kept it stored stored at 0 degrees during the week when it raised. 

Never figured out what the purpose of the 45 degree angle you could set the bimini was when folded down. Guessing it's to drain water when in storage if it rains?

What's the purpose of the 45 degree angle

Mine collects water too, the ends are open so I am not surprised water gets in there. The 45 degree position is to give you options of how to store the bimini with the tower folded.
