We are still having an issue with our surf gate after having it in the shop since last July.  Have any of you had the error message ‘surf gate locked see dealer’.  Dealer had no suggestions.

The most common surf gate issues I have seen is either a faulty reed switch in the actuator, a popped fuse from the relay pack to the actuator, a faulty relay on the relay pack, or loose connections on the harness plugs going to the actuators or reed switches.

Some of the early 2016 surf gates used inline 40 amp ATC fuses from the relay pack to the surf gate actuator that would pop and cause a surf gate lock issue.  Replacing the fuses with breakers will usually fix that sort of problem and Malibu has updated relay packs with a new harness to help with the repair.
