Alternator or battery?

Recommended Posts

I've got a 2018 Wakesetter I bought last Sept.  We've put 11 hours on the boat.  We took it out today after being in storage all winter.  Boat started fine.  About an hour out on the lake, we started to lose power.  Boat went dead.    Could it be a faulty alternator?  Boat is practically new. Any other possibilities?

The alternator may have lost its field. You can prompt it into starting up (youtube has some useful videos).

Load test the batteries first.  They die pretty easily.

I'd throw a charger on them and bring them up to full charge 1st.
