Las Vegas short term storage

I’m planning a trip to lake Powell this summer (coming from San Diego). Since I’ll be driving most of the way, we are planning to stay in Las Vegas one night so I can get some rest since it’s the halfway point for us.

we plan to stay off the strip at south point casino, but im nervous about leaving my boat in the parking lot. I have good insurance on everything, but it would put a damper on the trip to have the stereo ripped outta the boat before we even make it to lake Powell.

I contacted the dealer I purchased the boat from, which happens to be boulder boats in Henderson but they suggested the casino parking lot. I’ve sent a few messages to various storage facilities in the area but most wont do an overnight storage arrangement.

does anyone have experience with short term storage in the Las Vegas area?

i may just end up sleeping in the boat while the kids and wife sleep in the hotel room lol.

Will Boulder Boats not store the boat for you over night!?

Ask your hotel to check on it?  It's Vegas, they should have several people up thru the night, no?

Good thing you didn't tell us your travel dates, I could use a stereo upgrade.  lol  jk

Good luck.

I’ve got a trip planned for Powell in August and had the same dilemma. I’m leaving from San Clemente.  I couldn’t really find a suitable option, so I decided to to an early boarding option and come in the night before, and sleep on the houseboat. It doesn’t break up the drive, but It allows me to arrive later in the afternoon or early evening, pack up the boat, and be out on the lake in the morning.  My concern was losing a day by arriving too late to get out of the marina and to a suitable spot to beach the boat.

I live in Henderson and I am aware of some places you can probably keep your boat. I have left my 2019 25 lsv in front of my house overnight with no problems, but most of the time, I will leave it overnight in the gated community down the street. I wouldn't sleep much if I left it on the strip. Too many news stories of moving vans being ripped off. You can message me. I leave mine in Boulder City in a garage.

Come to St. George unless you planned on going to the strip to do striply things.  It is a much safer community.  It is an extra 2 hours drive, but still 2.5 hours from Powell.  I would not guarantee anything, but you can leave the boat at my house, it is a very safe neighborhood.

I have theories about best times to find a place to beach the boat at Powell, but they never seem to pan out.  I either find a great spot, or I don't.  So many people leave at different times, that I attribute it mostly to just luck.  A lot of people leave in the morning, but some pick up much later than you might expect.  I think I have gotten up lake too early many days and can't find a great spot, because folks who are leaving have not picked up yet.  Sorry about the off topic.

Call Vogue Marine in Boulder City.   They have done daily or weekly temporary storage for me several times in similar circumstances.  It is a little out of the way if you are heading to Powell but its cheap and safe and they are good to work with.

I live in Henderson and Seattle and bring my boat both places.  I highly would not recommend leaving your boat in the parking lot at Southpoint or any other casino parking lot for several reasons. First, would be the possibility of it being prowled. Second, is that very often the parking lots are filled to capacity thus you will have cars/trucks squeezing in tight next to you possibly hitting your trailer or boat. Southpoint is a great place to stay though.

I got lucky and have my boat parked in an airplane hangar at Henderson Executive Airport.

The recommendation to use 24-7 indoor storage I think is a great one. $75 for peace of mind plus being able to leave early in the morning is well worth it in my opinion. Please share with us how your Lake Powell trip goes and where you stayed.
