I am looking at a 1995 Malibu Flightcraft Barefooter with a 200 mercury outboard and was wondering if anyone has knowledge

of this boat at the 23' length as far as speed being fast enough with such a long boat with a 200 hp motor? Maybe this model has

more interior space for a big family which I don't need.

That boat will be plenty fast to foot off of.  Motor hanging off the back reduces the wetted area of the hull which increases efficiency.   Gotta watch the trim angle.  If you trim it up to far, the table washes out.  I had a Barefoot Falcon with a 200 HP Yamaha Pro V outboard and that boat would run low 50's trimmed out and upper mid 40's trimmed for footing and that was a bigger boat.
