2011 VTX Windshield

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I was spraying off my windshield on my 2011 VTX when I noticed water coming in on the dash.  The windshield has separated along the bottom where it meets the deck.  It's bowed up about 1/4".  I had been noticing the windshield rattles a bit more than I thought it should in big waves, and realized this is why.   All screws that I can see seem to be tight.

I called the closest dealer 2.5 hours away and they weren't really much help.  I was surprised, because they were great with everything else.  I took it to an auto glass guy here in town, and he said he had now idea how to take the panel out, but could apply a bead of new adhesive where the gap is to secure it.  I might go that route.

I'm wondering if there is anything else I should look into.  Is there an adhesive "kit" of some kind that a dealer would have?   With the dealers being so far away, I wanted to know if there is something more specific I should ask for and call them again.  This is one of the frameless windshields and I'm not even sure who makes them.  That would be good to know too.  Thanks!
