So I have a 2000 Malibu Escape LSV and we don’t have a tower yet I was wondering what a good quality folding tower was that’s not extremely expensive?

That's only a bimini top.

I haven't seen any towers that are not expensive. Samson seems to have some nice options https://samsonsports.com/

I had that tower on my old boat, That was 10 years ago but unless they made a bunch of upgrades I wouldn't get one. It seemed sturdy but after a year or so made a ton of noise that I could not fix.

I liked my Monster tower on the '99 VLX I had.  The over the tower bimini is nice too!

With the tower mounts being so close together did you see any stress cracks or other signs of damage  in the fiberglass from using the tower?

No, not while I had it. The gunnel is pretty thick were I mounted and you can use a piece of flat steel or aluminum under there too for mounting the tower with to help spread the load.

The mounting points are not that much more narrow ghan the tower on my '18 or my what was on my '10.

Yep, The monster is similar and a fraction the cost of the blade the bird mentions.

Similar towers yes, but the Samson is generally more expensive as it's a custom tower versus a universal.  I prefer custom towers as there's less items to worry about loosening up and they tend to be sturdier.  I did have a friend that had the Monster MTK on an old MC 205 that damaged the glass/gel (but I suspect they didn't get the tower reinforced properly or pulled more than what should have been on the tower).
