Depth finder read while trialered?

Recommended Posts

ok i had to make splice in my wire as posted a while back and it finally stopped reading flash 0.5 but now reads 14.8 while on trailer with concrete driveway.. seems a bit OFF? what does your read trailered?

... I have 2004 VLX with the older display that toggles Depth, hours, temps, and time, is there a way to adjust this to make it more accurate?

If I’m working in the boat while on the trailer I’ll have music on, of course lol, and mine reads 9’ or so. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s off when on the water.

No idea. Mine is right in the water. I assume the sensor can’t read through air and to cement correctly.

By the time the depth sender points out a problem your prop is already toast.

x2.  It isn't an altitude sensor, it is designed to work in water.

Mine shows 8'on the trailer.

Sound travels 4x faster in water than it does in air.  8' in air roughly equates to 2' in water but like others have said, it's not really designed to measure distance through air.
