Water in v drive

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had milky oil in their v drive. Trans fluid seems fine, but v drive is milky. It's an 02 wakesetter 23lsv. Thanks in advance.

I had this issue when I had a bad bilge pump and stern leak. The water got above the drive flange and got in that way. The vent I was told is one way and that is why you get the air rush sound when you open it to check level (negative pressure). I was told to drain/ refill check and repeat. Easy when warm with an oil extraction pump. Fluid is expensive for mine.

I change out mu V-Drive oil every few years...

Change out the oil and check it out over the coming months.

Not sure how water would get into it?
