Axis 2019 Head unit into a 2018

Has anyone figured out if the 2019 head unit will go into the older boats, specifically a 2018?  I really want a volume knob but don't want to give up everything that goes when swapping to the wet sounds.

Thanks!

Jason

This is for an Axis, looks like they moved my topic out of the Axis forum.

We did. We try to keep topics in the most relevant section. Since you are asking a specific question about anstwreo head unit it is better suited in the stereo section. The Axis boat section is for general conversation about Axis, like model year updates, build threads, or hey check out the Axis I just purchased thread.

I just spoke to Malibu and they confirmed that the newer style remote is compatible.

I am waiting for them to decide if they will send out the newer remote style in lieu of the existing one I am trying to get warrantied.

Anyone know the part  number for the new unit?  Or had any luck complaining enough to get them swapped out?  Mine is terrible with my iPod touch connection and drops frequently.  That along with no volume knob really makes for a poor user experience on a $5,000 stereo option.

I am waiting for an answer on this. But, I don’t think actual black box is different. I believe its just the remote.

That being said, the mew remote has a knob, but not sure it would help connectivity.

I purchased the newest version iPod Touch that is available just for the boat :)  I have a very old iPhone that does the same thing.  Even the volume knob would be worth a bit of cost, for me the push button is just such a pain.

Thanks!
