LS1 coil packs...are they automotive based?

The coil packs on the LS1 package are remote coils.  P/N 1103965 is printed on the ICM unit they plug into.  That is a dead P/N, but it looks like it cross references to the coil packs from a 2.2L 1996 Cavalier, though it appears to have been used in newer vehicles as well. 

I pulled the coil pack itself - nothing looks different than an automotive coil.  It has the two posts for the plug wires, two slots for the flat pins from the ICM and otherwise, it is a sealed unit.  This is the coil pack:

Why am I replacing?  I've been getting a rough idle, especially when going no wake for a couple of minutes.  Boat isn't running as smoothly as it once did either.  I pulled the plugs and found the #5 plug was wet and not looking like any of the others.  I already replaced the plugs and checked the resistance on the plug wire (which are upgraded Jegs cut-to-fit wires I installed back in 2011, as the Indmar wires failed).  I figured this would be a cheap swap to see if it resolves the issue.  Could be an injector issue too I suppose, ICM issue, or something worse, but going with the cheapest/easiest routes first.

I just want to make sure there are no safety issues before I swap out this coil pack.

Why don't you just swap the suspect one onto another cylinder and see if the wet plug follows?

Don't feel like dragging out the process, especially for a $30 part I can return to Amazon. :). Just making sure I am being safe doing it.
