Finding Engine error codes and resetting them

Recommended Posts

2013 VTX with 350 monsoon - new to me last fall and picked up a misfire code.

When it happened there was someone at the docks who showed me how to navigate the menus to read the error code but for the life of me I can't seem to do it now.  Any one able to talk me through it again?

Also, I've replaced all ignition components and want to get the code cleared.  If I remember what I've read it will clear after three start/cool down cycles up to 160F - is that correct?

Anyone know how cool it needs to get back down to in between cycles?

Yes, supposedly it will auto reset if you go through 3 cycles.  It has to get pretty cool, just turning it off for an hour after running on hose was never enough.

Otherwise the only way to clear it is with the diacom software.

As for the menu navigation, it is in the owners manual.  If you click on the resources section above you can download one if you don't have it.
