Gauge Panel Removal- 2003 LXi

Recommended Posts

I’m trying to access behind the gauges on my new (to me) 2003 LXi.  Can anyone shed some light on how I get the upper dash gauge panel out?  The only screws I see are the ones holding the Malibu emblem in place.  My 2000 Response had at lest 6 or 8 easily identifiable Allen screws.  Not the case in the LXi

Any help would be appreciated!

I believe its the two that hold emblem and there is one screw above the center gauge. Then it should just pop out. There might be more but I can't remember.

This.  Three screws.  The one above the center gauge goes almost straight up and is a phillips head.  The two holding the Malibu emblem on are likely allen heads.

My 2001 Sunsetter LXi had one more black screw mounted that blends in just underneath the lip on the top just like the others said.   Here is a picture for location.  Good luck.

Thanks everyone. Just waiting for a new throttle cable for the Perfect Pass I’m swapping over from my 00’ RLX....should be an easy swap.  Perfect pass tells me the power, ground, and RPM Wires are ready to go behind the dash in the 03’.  This was not the case in my 00’
