Perfect Pass RPM wire 2001 SSLXI Monsoon

Recommended Posts

Installed my new Perfect Pass Stargazer 3 event system today. Pretty straight forward with one issue. I can’t seem to locate the “Grey” wire to tap into for the RPM hook up. Followed PP instructions which are very clear. Not locating a Grey wire with a spade connector in the gauge pod as specified. I did however locate an unused 2 Grey with black stripes with female connector under the dash by the horn. This pair of Grey wires are larger gauge than most under the dash tho. A few more unused wires with female spade connectors as well, purple etc.

Why would I ever use RPM MODE anyway?  Slalom is all I’m after, thus consistent MPH.  RPM is irrelevant for GPS based speed control isn’t it?

Stargazer is RPM mode with GPS reference.  It uses the GPS to set RPM baselines, then adjusts accordingly off of that based on load, wind, skier drag, etc.  You need RPM.

I'd give the folks at PP a call.

I continued the search and could not locate the possible dedicated Grey wire with female spade connector described in the installation instructions. Cut the entire harness apart and it wasn’t there. I did however trace the solid Grey wire that came out of the Medallion box and it went to a 12 pin white block plug that wasn’t connected to anything. Tapped into that Grey wire and it was correct.

Ah... makes sense. It’s been a minute since I setup a perfect pass system.
