Replace Carpet with Gatorstep/Seadek

My 07 VTX has glued in carpet.  It also has the carpet up the sides of the seat bases.  For those that have pulled out the glued in carpet and put in Gatorstep or Seadek, did you leave the carpet on the seat bases?  If you pulled it off, how does it look?  

Also, how much work to the floor do I need to do, beyond cleaning up all of the glue?

I would look at the decadence so you won’t have to do any floor work.  Pull it out anytime you want to wash it out and it’s good as new.
