Fiberglass swim platform retro fit

Hi Team,

im looking for some infromation, i have an 04 Malibu Wakesetter VLX, currently it has a worn out Teak swim platform, im wanting to upgrade to a fiberglass one. Only problem is i spoke with my Malibu dealer and they cannot source the mould for mine any more. my question is i know they changed the hull in 2005, but has anyone retro fitted a new platform to the older pre 04 boat? i luv the look of the new my15 onwards platforms with surf gate cut outs, however the back of the newer boat i belive is much more rounded than my straight transom.

Has anyone retro fitted anything like this? would it be hard to modify a newer one to fit, or does any one know a newer model that would possibly suit?

thanks is advance, any help is greatly appreciated.

The '05 - '08 Vride is the same hull as your boat.

Unless your teak has chunks missing out of it, they are very quick and easy to restore back to like new condition. A power sander and some teak oil/sealer will have it looking new once more.

The Response and Response LX are also the SV23 hull up through 2014.

FWIW, I have a teak deck on my 94 Echelon that came from an 06 Vride, and it fits perfectly.  So there are a LOT of compatible models.

Also, I have sanded and finished it several times, it is very easy to do.
