My SurfGate wants to stck out as well. I've tried to recallibrate the system but that doesnt work.  Any help here?  Thank you

If there are any connections you can clean then do that.  Otherwise your actuator is likely shot

Donnie - what ended up being your issue?   I am encountering the same issue.  I bought a 2014 VLX with 150 hours on it just a couple months ago - boat has been great - BUT today I got this message and the surf gate did not want to retract.  I shut the boat off and shut off battery switch - just thinking it needed a "reset" but that did not work - the surf gate was still stuck out.  I used the "Calibrate Surfgate" on the set up menu and after several cycles of Calibrate Surf Gate, the gate was fully retracted.  Note: the first few attempts moved the back partially and then it would beep.  Once it returned all the way back - there was no beep.  I would like to know how you trouble shot your issue.
